Brief description about the project Why the project Institutional viability Finance for the project Training institute and graduate program The training institute and the graduate program aims to train professionals in the field of economic and management. Its objectives is to prepare highly qualified individuals for managerial positions, (in public and private enterprises and institutions), who are also competent in the competitive global market. The ultimate objective is to establish an internationally accredited masters program in business management (MBA) and economic development and development management (MA or MSc) in addition to providing short term skill upgrading programs for professional working in government, the private sector and non profit associations. On this basis, the project has already identified world class; internationally accredited universities that offer masters program in the above fields of studies in order to work in partnership. Formal communication has been made and the office is relentlessly working on measures procedures towards partnership. This is to enable the office to identify universities that would participate in developing the curriculum, organizing the program and supply some of the teaching staff who would offer some of the courses as well as the selected and qualified Ethiopian staff residing here in Ethiopia. In addition, the project office is in close contact with professionals Ethiopians in the Diaspora who have already shown interest in participating in the project. The project office estimates that about 60 students will
enroll for masters program each year once the program starts.The capacity
building training institute is also expected to train 300 public and private
enterprise staffs in short-term training per annum.The projected goal
of the training institute for the first five years from its commencement
is to train more than 300 qualified managers and professionals, hence,
the projected number will serve as a benchmark to where the training institute
is heading.
