EEA Opened its Third chapter at Haramaya University on April 24, 2010

Opening up EEA Chapters: In view of the provision of the constitution of the Association, EEA opened officially its third chapter at Haramaya University on the 24th April 2010. At the Inaugural ceremony of EEA Haramaya chapter, two papers were presented entitled “Donor Driven Development Strategy for Africa” by Prof. Belay Kassa and “Impact Evaluation of Ethiopian Health Extension Program” by Dr. Assefa Admassie. The Haramaya University has provided 8 big shelves, 5 Tables, more than 10chairs and 10 computers. The University also assigned one librarian for the day to day operation of the chapter. This enabled the chapter to open a mini-library that serves the staff and students of the University and members of EEA in the region. Before the opening of the chapter, the Secretariat of the Association has visited and held discussions with the staffs of the Economics department of the University and heads of regional bureaus. In addition to the opening of the Haramaya Chapter, the Secretariat of the Association has made some preparatory activities to open another chapter at Mekelle University.
