The Ethiopian Economic Association has started the construction of 4 storey building that will house the Association’s head office, a training institute, and graduate program (MBA and Masters in Economics). The building is especially designed for educational purposes and includes a conference hall that can house 400 people including a projector room for showing movies, 9 class rooms that could also serve as caucus rooms during conferences, over 30 private offices, a library, a student lounge, a resource center and a computer lab. In addition to the above, the building also have a gymnasium, 9 shops in the ground floor, a multi purpose hall that could seat 1000 people comfortably, a cafeteria and coffee shop for students and faculty. The building is designed by the Ethiopian Architects Association and is designed to incorporate every thing that a modern educational and research facility requires. In addition to housing its various institutions, the building is designed to increase EEA’s income by renting the commercial space, the conference venue and the multipurpose hall to outside clients to support its various activities including the training institute and graduate program facilities.
